The NRSBU has levels of service it sets and reviews each year that it must meet and report against on a regular basis including levels of service, resource consent compliance, financial results and non-financial performance results.

NRSBU reports quarterly on the achievements for the year in meeting its levels of service, targets and objectives. The measures are set out in the Business Plan that is reviewed and adopted approximately December each year and full financial and non-financial results can be found in the annual report which is reported September each year.

Some of the key performance metrics include:

  • Network maintenance

  • Effluent quality

  • Emissions monitoring and reporting

  • Reuse of biosolids

  • Phosphorus and nitrogen levels

  • Compliance with statutory obligations

  • Compliance with resource consent conditions

  • Energy efficiency targets

  • Health and safety obligations

  • Asset management audits

  • Load capacity
